4.3.4 Angular Displacement

There are circumstances in which it is necessary for a medical nanodevice to measure, establish or maintain a preferred orientation, as for example nanorobots with a clearly defined "top" and "bottom" or nanodevices performing lengthy intracellular operations requiring precision stationkeeping. Measurement of rotation rates may also be required.
