4.3 Displacement and Motion Sensors

The ability to precisely measure position and displacement, velocity and acceleration, rotation and orientation are essential requirements for nanoscale locomotion, physical manipulation, and navigation. A comprehensive analysis is beyond the scope of this book, but the following approximations should prove useful in nanomedical design.
